Track competitions:
They no longer depend on the wind and weather?
Those who are themselves cross country skiers, who jog, paddle or ride, know that the weather is a challenge for even the greatest enthusiasts. And even if they hold out, they encounter empty stands and lonely streets. Because the spectators avoid this. It’s logical that in addition to the athletes also the organizers jitter if St. Peter doesn't play along.
And even if this doesn’t matter: Why should for example biathletes not also be able to directly train their sport in the summer?
There are already halls for skiers to let them enjoy their white sport even if there is not snow outside. Experience has also been gained with cross country skiers on artificial snow, for example in Düsseldorf or in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. Temporarily however, because permanent facilities are rare. After all, the weather has been a central topic with track sports since the discussion about the climate or the problem with finding Olympic locations where the snow is guaranteed.
And the considerations don’t stop with snow sports in the summer or in winters which are too warm. Why not a canoe track where there isn’t a river?
Because the expense for a respectably covered track can be calculated - they don't have to always be enormous concrete constructions.
