Year round training paradise for biathletes and cross country skiers

In Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, hundreds of tons of Hamco corrugated steel segments are helping to create optimal training conditions, even in summer.

 The Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk, with 50,000 residents and about 2000 km to the east of Moscow on the Irtysh River, is one of the most important addresses for the biathlon sports. Each year the city is the venue of an international large event, in March 2008 the next World Cup of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) will again take place here. An own biathlon stadium crowns the extensive facility. With the new year round training facility, the top notch sports location will push the level even higher. Hamco corrugated steel segments make sure that even after the next world cup the preparations for the upcoming competitions can begin as early as the summer of 2008.

 December 2008 / January 2009
Delay of the earthworks.
Unexpected difficulties of the earthworks on site at Khanty delay the completion so that the construction phase could not be finalized. However, we anticipate the completion in the course of 2009.

October 2007
In the meantime almost all of the corrugated steel plates of the new ski-tunnel have been assembled.
As the required operations are interlocking, the construction company has already begun to cover part of the steel tunnel with soil. It is not only cosmetics, but also an essential part of the structure.

August 2007
Corrugated steel elements almost completely assembled.
The facility Khanty-Mansiysk is growing as planned. Parallel to the ground work, the first corrugated steel segments are being built. Then the isolation will be installed. The planned opening date is in March of next year.

July 2007
The first quarter of steel has been delivered
The last constructive questions pertaining to the escape and supply tunnel have been clarified, the first quarter of the corrugated steel parts are as good as delivered. Now we have to bring the remaining 2500 corrugated steel elements to the site.
